Helping your child to reach their milestones through learning and play.
The Little Movers program is intended to enhance the growth and development of children ages 0-5 years. The program consists of indoor and outdoor play activities that aid in physical, social and cognitive development. It also incorporates singing and dancing to enhance their understanding of language and sound to improve vocabulary, communication and co-ordination skills. Handouts are provided to parents during the activities that provide information on infant and child health, usually correlated to the activity of the session. Group activities also benefit the parents in providing opportunities to engage in peer support.
Little Movers is a drop-in program that is run by our Pediatric Services Coordinator Amy Newman, RN andHealth Promoter Yvonne Romas, and can be found in the Ignace School.
Learning through play is a key theme to the Little Movers Program. Activities such as story walks or dance parties are devised to engage the child and the parent and aim to increase the bond between the two while meeting developmental milestones.
